Brian K. Service, President & Chief Executive Officer of 3D Systems Corporation, joined the company in September 1999. Service is a Principal of Regent Pacific Management Corporation, a leading advisory firm specializing in corporate turnarounds. Prior to his assignment with 3D, he has acted as a consultant or interim executive for numerous start-ups or challenged companies. He has over 25 years of practical business experience, including CEO positions at Salmond Smith Biolab Ltd. and Milk Products, Inc. In both cases, he was tasked with restructuring these under-performing companies, and succeeded in increasing revenue, margins and stock price. Service graduated with honors from Canterbury University in New Zealand with a degree in chemical engineering. He also attended Stanford University's executive management program. Service serves on the boards of Visual Data Corp., EDNet Inc. and Travel Dynamics Inc. H. Michael Hogan III, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, joined 3D Systems in September 1999. Hogan is also a Principal of Regent Pacific Management Corporation, a leading advisory firm specializing in corporate turnarounds which has been retained by 3D Systems. He has spent the last 10 years working with under-performing companies throughout the United States in telecommunications, technology, retail, manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, professional services and other industries. An experienced financial advisor and a Certified Turnaround Professional, he has assisted senior management in the areas of cash management, cost control, operations, business disposition and strategy. Hogan holds a Bachelor's degree from Colgate University. Clark A. Hardesty, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, came to 3D Systems from Regent Pacific Management Corporation in September 1999. Formerly, he was the owner of a manufacturing company serving the aerospace industry, with a customer list that included Boeing, Rocketdyne, TRW and Hughes. He has more than 25 years experience in marketing and sales management for Fortune 500 companies in the consumer product and business services industries. Hardesty earned his Bachelor's degree from Northeastern University, his Master's degree from Harvard, and an MBA from Case Western Reserve. Charles W. Hull, Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder, spent his early career as a senior engineer at Bell & Howell. He then served ten years as Engineering Manager at DuPont's Photo Products Division, concentrating on the development and production of analytical equipment. In 1980, he joined UVP Inc. as Vice President of Engineering. It was at UVP that he developed and patented the stereolithography process. In 1986, Hull left UVP to co-found 3D Systems, and is presently responsible for providing the company's strategic technical direction. Hull received a Bachelor's degree in engineering physics from the University of Colorado. Martin E. McGough, Vice President & Worldwide Operations Manager, joined 3D Systems in January of 1997 and is responsible for manufacturing and operations, as well as worldwide field service. McGough was formerly with Maxtor Corporation, a leading supplier of computer disk drives, where he held the position of Senior Director of Strategic Commodities. Prior to Maxtor, he held leadership positions in Operations, Marketing, Program Management and other manufacturing and materials positions. McGough received his Bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge in Business Administration and earned his Master's in Business Management also from CSUN. Grant R. Flaharty, Vice President & General Manager, 3D Systems Europe, has been with 3D Systems since April of 1998, formerly acting as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the company's European operations. Before joining 3D, he held the position of Director of Manufacturing Finance at Qualcomm, Inc., a leading wireless communications company. He also acted as Operations Controller at Motorola, Inc. Flaharty is a graduate of Regis College as well as a Certified Public Accountant. A. Sidney Alpert, Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, joined 3D Systems in January 1996. Alpert is responsible for developing legal strategies and providing guidance concerning global corporate activities, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and licensing. Alpert served as a board member, chairman and chief executive officer for Competitive Technologies, Inc. (CTI) until his retirement in 1993. Prior to 1995, Alpert was Chairman of the Board of University Communications, Inc., which markets satellite-delivered interactive educational software. Alpert served on the Board of 3D Systems from 1993 to 1996, and he has also served as patent counsel for General Electric and IBM. Alpert holds an engineering degree from the University of Florida and a law degree from George Washington University Law School. |
