These files are intended for experienced users who want to go beyond the limits of the default Standard and Advanced styles to accommodate new applications or alternative stereolithography resins. These style files are not resin specific, but are grouped in self-extracting archives according to machine type. The archive file names for the Advanced styles are: SLA250_GenStyleAdv.exe SLA500_GenStyleAdv.exe SLA3500_GenStyleAdv.exe (also used for SLA350) SLA5000_GenStyleAdv.exe SLA7000_GenStyleAdv.exe and for the Standard styles: SLA250_GenStyleStd.exe SLA500_GenStyleStd.exe SLA3500_GenStyleStd.exe (also used for SLA 350) SLA5000_GenStyleStd.exe SLA7000_GenStyleStd.exe The individual style files within the archive follow a modified naming convention as follows: P7000FZG0050in.sty P7000FZG0050in.rcs S7000FZG0050in.sty These are the General FAST style files for an SLA7000 system. Note in this naming convention, the "7000" refers to the machine type, not the resin type. The other conventions used are as follows: H=Hex G=General F=Fast Z=Zephyr I-Inclined X=eXact R=Regular V=trapped Volume B=Box (Doctor) D=Delicate T=Tooling N=None L=Large flat \ | / \ | / \ | / rcs=Recoat style \ | / sty=Build style \ | / / P7000FZG0050in.sty P=Part / ---- ---- \ S=Support | \ in=inch | \ mm=millimeters | \ Machine Type Layer Thickness Once the archive has been downloaded and extracted, you use the styles just like the Recommended Baseline styles included on the 3D Lightyear release CD-ROM. That is, because the Setup New Machine wizard does not know of their existence, you must manually apply the "General" styles to your platform using the "Browse" function to locate the desired files. Once they are applied to the platform you can use the parameter editing tools in 3D Lightyear to adjust the parameters for your requirements. You can create a Support recoat style by starting with a Part recoat style and set the dip distance > 0, and the number of sweeps = 0. ================================================================= ================================================================= Installation 1. Download the desired archive file (or if you received it via email, Save the archive file) to a temporary folder on your hard disk. 2. From Windows Explorer, double-click on the archive file name. This will bring up the WinZip Self-Extractor dialog. Note the default destination is: c:\Program Files\3DSystems\3D Lightyear\styles\General\Advanced for the Advanced styles, and: c:\Program Files\3DSystems\3D Lightyear\styles\General\Standard for the Standard styles. 3. If this is not the folder you want to extract the files to, Use the "Browse" function to locate the desired destination folder. 4. When the desired destination folder appears in the "Unzip to folder:" window, Click the Unzip button. If the destination folder does not exist, the self-extractor program creates it, as well as sub-folders for the inch and metric forms of the styles. The files are then extracted and copied to the destination folder. 5. Click the "Close" button to end the self-extractor program. The new styles are now ready to use. ================================================================= ================================================================= Technical Support For help with the installation and use of the 3D Lightyear General Styles Update, contact 3D Systems' Customer Support Hotline at 800.793.3669 in the United States.
